This is the conversation that inspired me to create this blog.  We thought it would be a good idea to print our ride prices on the back of our business cards in an attempt to make things easier for the customer.  Obviously our plan backfired...

Me: Thank you for calling Carriage Company, how may I help you?
Lady: I was wondering how much a ride would be for 4 people for 30 minutes.
Me: The 30 minute ride is $20 per person.
Lady: Yea, well I was looking at the card and it says it’s a $40 minimum, so it’s not $40 for 4 people?
Me: No, it’s $20 per person for 30 minutes.  The $40 minimum means that even if only one person rides, the price would still be $40.
Lady: So what about the $15 a person ride?
Me: The 20 minute ride is $15 per person, so it would be $60 for 4 people.
Lady: So it's not 15 minutes per person?
Me: Uhhh, no?  It's $15 per person for 20 minutes.
Lady: And the 40 minute ride?
Me: That’s $25 per person.
Lady: So it would be $100 for 4 people?
Me: Yes, ma’am.
Lady: Even though it says on the card that there’s a $50 minimum?
Me: Yes ma’am, $50 is the MINIMUM price for a ride.  You still have to pay for every person that rides.
